I stumbled on this restaurant when I first went to Chinatown in Bangkok. I noticed the queue in front of the restaurant and we thought we give it a try, there must be something about it. Since then I’ve come back 5 times. The crispy pork and the rolled noodles in the peppery broth soup are unbeatable.
Atmosphere.
It is Chinatown. You’ll have a lot of tourists. As mentioned earlier, there always is a queue, but it’s worth waiting and you’ll be seated super fast. Also the food gets to you super fast. Similar to Jay Fai’s restaurant this place is open to two sides, in the front you’ll find more tables and on the right side the outdoor kitchen, where you can watch them cook.
Price.
The price for the dishes are between 50 – 100 Baht.
Food.
Nai Ek’s signiture dish is the rolled noodles in the peppery broth soup. You can choose from a menu different sizes (on the picture above, I choose the smallest option) and also add additional meat. The staff happily recommends different add ons, for example, minced pork and crispy pork.
Location.
The restaurant is located directly on the Yaowarat Road, in the center of Chinatown. Best to get to the Yaowarat Road is by Tuk Tuk or Taxi. Even if you take the MRT to the closest station Hua Lamphong, you’ll still need to get a Tuk Tuk or Taxi. Here is a Google Maps link to: Nai Ek Roll Noodles.
