You are looking for authentic Thai seafood dishes? Leam Charoen is the place to go, especially, after a long shopping day at the Emquartier. The restaurant belongs to a chain of restaurants which specializes on Thai seafood dishes. The branch we visited is in the Helix building of the Emquatier.
Atmosphere.
The restaurant is open to the mall and is quite big, fitting many tables inside. Interesting to know is that it is one of the few restaurants in the Helix building that has an outdoor seating. Which gives a nice view over the Sukhumvit area, if you can endure the heat. The blue mosaic tiles at the walls look like fish scales which brings a nice touch to the restaurant.
Food.
The menu features a great variety of seafood prepared in a range of different methods. The signature dish is deep-fried sea bass with chili sauce. The food is nicely prepared, very fresh and rich in taste.
Price.
The price is between middle to high compared to average Thai seafood restaurants. The deep-fried sea bass for example, costs 550 Baht.
Location.
The restaurant chain has several branches in the big shopping malls in Bangkok. As said, we visited the branch in the Helix building at the Emquariter. It is on the 7th floor. The Emquartier can easily be reached by BTS. The station is Phrom Phong. Here is a Google Maps link to the restaurant.
