This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Helix building, Kub Kao Kub Pla, serving authentic Thai food. I’ve brought every of my visitors to this place and everyone loved it.
Atmosphere.
The restaurant has an open window front looking towards the Benchasiri Park next to the Emporium. The tables are located a little further away, allowing the customers to have a little more privacy. At the weekend the restaurant can get quite crowded, but the waiting time is ususally not to long.
Prices.
The dishes cost each between 200 – 800 Baht. It is quite expensive but personally I believe it is fair.
Food.
The restaurant names roughly translated means “dishes to serve with rice”. You’ll find a variety of rice dishes, but also typical “rad nha” – thick noodles in gravy. My favorite was the crab omelet and the scampi in sweet and sour sauce.
Location.
The restaurant is located on the 6th floor in the Helix building of the Emquartier. Best to get to the Emquartier is with BTS, the station is Phrom Pong. Here is a Google Maps link to the restaurant, Kub Kao Kub Pla.
