When you visit Hua Hin the Cicada night market is a must. Not only is not much else to do in Hua Hin it is also a very relaxed night activity after sightseeing all day or spending the day at the beach. When I came around 7pm the small Amphitheater even showed a play for entertainment.
Atmosphere.
This night market is super relaxed as most people who are visiting it are on vacation. It can not be compared to most of the night markets in Bangkok, which are quite crowded and busy. Here you’ll find more Western cloths, art and accessories to buy for a little more money.
Price.
To pay for the food you have to get stamps at the entry of the food section. The dishes vary between 40 – 150 Baht.
Food.
The food area is quite big. You’ll buy coupons at the entrances which you can use at the different food stalls. It really has a variety of food stalls from Thai, Chinese and Japanese to a great selection of desserts. I tried the Japanese Takoyaki and I have to say they are very close to the ones in tried in Tokio. I can recomend it.
Location.
The night market is located at the main street of Hua Hin, Nong Kae-Takiap. Here is a link to Google Maps: Cicada Market, Hua Hin.
