Weekends are for long breakfasts with friends. This very cute restaurant, called Blue dye cafe, was recommended to me by my Thai foodie colleague. One Saturday morning we decided to try it out. It is a shop and restaurant, very modern with delicious food.
Atmosphere.
The restaurant has a beautiful open window front, illuminating the entire room. When entering the restaurant, you’ll find a couple of tables on the right side in front of the coffee bar and a few more tables on the left in front of a display of a couple if items, mostly pottery and indigo-dyed cloth. The interior is bright and warm which invites for a relaxing afternoon.
Food.
The coffee is delicious it is made with Thai coffee beans roasted by the popular Chiangmai cafe OMNIA. The café serves typical western brunch dishes like paste with a local twist. The signature dish is the crumbed egg on toast. It is two crumbed eggs and spinach on toast, the eggs are deep-fried poached eggs covered in breadcrumbs.
I have never tasted this kind of deep-fried egg before, but must say especially in the combination with the soft spinach it was delicious.
Price.
The prices are fair for a café like this, for example the crumbed egg costs 190 Baht and Pasta around 220 Baht.
Location.
The restaurant is located in a residential neighborhood near Thong Lor station. It is 10 min walk from Thong Lor BTS station. Find a link to the Website on Google Maps here.
