This classic Thai restaurant, named At-Ta-Rote, is really exceptional. From all regions to royal cuisine it serves authentic Thai food. I went there on one of my first days in Bangkok with my new team. My manager wanted to introduce the Thai cuisine to me.
Atmosphere.
This restuarant is very open and light throught the glass window front. It’s decoration picks up some traditional Thai elements like woven baskets and chairs made with linen giving it a modern but classy touch. The people you’ll find here are predomenantly from the area around it, Thong Lo.
Price.
The prices for the food for this restaurant are slightly higher, as you’ll get original Thai cuisine with a modern touch in a great atmosphere. The area of Thong Lo might also have an influence on the price.
Food.
Super delicious! Inspired by the royal cuisine the chef serves from royal shrimp paste with roasted coconuts to authentic Pad Thai, green curry or stir fried chili fish. My personal favorite was the dessert – thai flavoured home-made ice creams.
Location.
It’s located at the very end of Sukhumvit Soi 39. Best to reach is by getting out at the BTS station Phrom Phong and taking a Tuk Tuk or motorbike taxi. Here the link to Google Maps: At-ta-rote.
